I'd like to be able to make it like a radio station where I can have programs scheduled to play all day long. Then I wouldn't have to think of using a service like live365

The only problem with that is that there are multiple live shows at any given time and sometimes, often in fact, shows don't neatly abut their ends and beginnings. So, really, you might have a better bet trying to generate something both a little more and a little less ambitious, an RSS feed which updates elements as they've completed recording. Then you can just find a player that can take an RSS feed and extract the audio link before playing the "next" one. Skipping forward in the list would be easy and since nothing starts exactly simultaneously (and even if they did, they'd be in some arbitrary order in the stream), simultaneous play isn't an issue.

Or a playlist like feature where I can list in order all of the prerecorded mp3s of shows. I could just arrange them in a way. But doesn't the widget already do this?

For a single given show, absolutely.

A widget that could negotiate the tree of shows rooted in "what's on now" would be quite interesting. Not filling one of my needs, necessarily, but interesting.
